We can set up camp near the river with tents or by building shelters or sleep in the boat.

DAY 2:

After breakfast, we will walk for about 6 to 8 hours with all our gear deep into the jungle, where at an appropriate time and place we will set up camp with tents or by building shelters.

After dinner, we will take a night excursion to spot the nightlife. You will see insects, toads, frogs and some ground animals.

DAY 3:

After breakfast, we will begin a full day of exploration.

We will learn and practice some basic, yet essential, techniques and skills for survival. We will learn how to make traps, track animals, secure provisional materials, use an improvised system for navigation in remote areas of the jungle and also practice and learn how to climb trees. We will eat lunch in the afternoon and then later return to our base camp where we will eat dinner and spend the rest of the evening.

DAY 4:

After breakfast, we will again board our boat and travel farther on the Amazon.

Lunch will be served on board. We will have time for a little fishing and be able to see and swim with the dolphins.

By late afternoon we will search for a place to sleep either on the river bank or in a native family's house on the river. We will eat dinner with the family and experience their wonderful spirit and attitude towards life.

DAY 5:

We will eat breakfast and then set out for an entire day of exploring the dynamic variety of plant and animal species in the lakes and swamps of the Amazon Basin.

We will eat lunch in the field or on the boat and return to our camp or our host family's home for dinner.

DAY 6:

We will eat breakfast and then set out for an entire day of searching for anacondas and electric eels.

We will eat lunch in the field or on the boat and return to our camp or our host family's home for dinner.

DAY 7:

After breakfast, we will board our boat and head back to Iquitos.

You will return to Iquitos between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the late afternoon.

Many people who are just passing through Iquitos or are only here for a week or so would like to go out for their first contact and experience with the jungle, yet are unsure of what is available or what to expect in a tour. Others may come with specific expectations, activities or itineraries. Some people prefer sleeping in a lodge, in a constructed shelter, on our boat or with a family in the jungle or maybe a little bit of each.

Keep in mind that our activities menu is for YOU! We can make suggestions and answer questions, but our priority in providing the best service and experience for you means that you get to do exactly what you want to do. If we know what you would like to do and experience we can plan accordingly; as everything is not in one area, but spread throughout the region. This is also important when considering such things as a menu, for example. We need to know your preferences before hand to ensure a satisfactory experience that you will remember for a lifetime.

The above program is an example of what could be customized to time requirements or to your personal/group preferences. Green Wild Amazon Expedition is always, always flexible when providing custom tours and expeditions. Therefore, never hesitate to ask any questions!

Our goal is to facilitate an unforgettable experience that you will want to share with all your family and friends!
